Born Jan Papczynski, Stanislaus of Jesus and Mary Papczyński — a priest and founder of the first male Order to have originated in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth — is a notable representative of the Polish school of spirituality, especially addressing the themes of Christ Passion and Marian devotion. He was particularly sensitive to all social injustice. His beatification took place on Sept 16, 2007, at the Marian shrine in Licheń in Poland.
